School at Home

Episode 2:  School at Home

Want to listen?

Today on the show,  I talked about something  a little controversial in the homeschool community and that is school at home. If you haven’t been part of the homeschool community very long, school at home is basically trying to replicate what your kids would have in a typical public or private education setting.

You might use a similar curriculum. You might try to follow a similar schedule. There are lots of ways to approach what is often referred to as “school at home”.

Why should you try to reinvent the wheel?

There are lots of reasons that you may have come to homeschooling, but the reality is that many of them don’t have anything to do with the academic components of school.   If many of the components of public education were working for your kiddo, why do we need to abandon everything that works?  Isn’t that throwing baby out with the bath water?

I give you my opinion on schooling at home, virtual schooling, and the lack of acceptance of new families to homeschooling.

You are creating your unique approach to education.   Put your stamp on it.
