Rainbows

I recently got the chance to share The Wizard of Oz with my little boys.  Since this is one of my favorite movies (only matched by Mary Poppins), I was thrilled to come home one evening to my husband and boys watching it.

My boys have always been entranced by rainbows.  I think most kids are.  We have some interesting architecture in our house and during the day we can find rainbows on our floors and walls.  If we are home and the kids discover them, they always want to name the colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.  ROY G BIV.

On Thanksgiving morning, I poured a glass of water and we used it to move the rainbow around and change the intensity.  Consider getting some prisms or just experimenting with glasses and flashlights. My kids love the idea that the colors are separating.

I have some pictures, but couldn’t find them right now.  Since it is snowy and gray and I am sick…. I needed an infusion of rainbow love.
