Valentine’s Day Puzzle

It can be hard to find the right types of Valentine’s Day games for our kids. This Valentine’s Day puzzle is a mix of fun, challenge, and sweetness.

Why logic puzzles?

I started adding in logic to our week in the fall. My kids find these puzzles to be challenging without being frustrating which I personally think is the sweet spot. I love these as part of our thought work we are doing in conjunction with a growth mindset and managing our emotions.

You don’t have to be working on a growth mindset to enjoy these types of logic puzzles. Logic puzzles are great additions to our arsenal of cognitive skill developers. There is still a great deal of research to be done about learning and puzzles, but the overall optimistic view is that they are doing good things for us.

The benefits of puzzles (of various kinds) cross different areas of thought. The benefits include:

critical thinking
visualization
creativity
fine motor skills
integration of information

In this Valentine’s Day puzzle, kids are asked to read through a scenario about four friends that have decided to throw a Valentine’s Day party. Kids are asked to determine which friend purchased what item for the party and the day on which it was purchased.
