Periodic table making you feel a little blah?

Grab these resources to create a fun and interactive experience that is sure to grab the attention of your creative kids.

Don’t stress over creating resources.  I’ve got you covered.  The periodic table can feel very abstract.   This could be adapted for use by upper elementary through high school. There are 2 resources:

  • Periodic Table Interactive Notebook
  • Periodic Table WANTED poster project (with grading rubric)
  • Periodic Table Project. Mock Social Media Project

 Periodic Table Interactive Notebook

The perfect way to organize all the notes on the periodic table.

Periodic Table Wanted Poster.

In this poster project, kids will pick an element to research and create an old-fashioned wild west wanted poster for that element.

From the student sheets:

Looking for those pesky elements that are always hanging around hiding in plain sight.  You know the types on your table, in your space, and just generally making themselves important.  The first step is to make some wanted posters so everyone can know which elements we are looking for and where they might find them.

Optional grading rubric included.

  • Ideal for middle school, but could be used in upper elementary or high school depending on the students.

Periodic Table Project.  Mock Social Media Project.

Periodic table project via a mock social media layout. Can be used as a student generated bulletin board. Digital and PDF included. Editable rubric and project instructions (in PPT).

Students are provided templates for social media that are typical of current trends. They can pick a template and create a profile and posts for their element. This can be done by hand, but digital templates (via google slides) are included with guiding instructions.

I’ve included a set of teacher instructions, student sheet, and rubric. All 3 of these are editable (in Powerpoint). The social media templates are not editable but can be completed digitally and printed (or not).

I’ve included the typical questions in these type of projects, like atomic number and mass number.
