Earth Day Ideas
I love when Earth Day comes around. The day revolves around learning how to maintain our planet and the life on it. This is way more than “Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle”. We need to be spending time thinking about how to connect with our kids on these issues so they can be policy and change makers of the future.

Earth Day Worksheet
Typically I wouldn’t suggest a worksheet for an engagement activity, but this is actually not just a regular Earth Day worksheet. It’s an Earth Day Puzzle. A logic puzzle to be exact. I’ve talked about how much we have enjoyed incorporating logic into our studies and the benefits in many other posts.
You can grab your Earth Day Worksheet free in April.

Water Cycle Model
The water cycle along with the other biogeochemical cycles are essential for life on earth. You can get this set of FREE printable props for the water cycle to go over it. I love teaching the water cycle at a booth for Earth Day. Big kids get involved teaching and helping the little kids cut out and work through their water cycle.

Sun-Earth-Moon Model
Have you considered making a model to help kids understand the relationship of the sun, earth, and moon? This can be very engaging as one of your Earth Day ideas because one of the repeating themes is energy. The ultimate source of energy is the sun. Grab this Sun-Earth-Moon Model.

Renewable Energy for Kids
Renewable energy sources are a topic of intense study and debate. At the beginning of the 21st century, there seemed to be a consensus that renewables were the path to the future. With changing sociopolitical climates, the acceptance of renewable energy seems to be wavering slightly. In this project, kids get to build a Windmill. You can take this as simple or complex as you want.
