Welcome to the learning hypothesis. I am an educator in every sense of the word. I have taught in the K-12 classroom, I have homeschooled, and I am currently a college professor. (These are not mutually exclusive). I am the mother of three kids. Two of my three kids are very active and curious little boys who adore science. The focus of this blog is to help anyone who is interested in incorporating more science and math into their home or classroom.
The above photo is of my 4 year old as we experimented with mixing colors. This is something my younger children (4 and 6) can do over and over again. I mix three cups of primary colors and provide them with pipettes, paper towels and something to mix in. They go to town.
I truly believe that the focus of education needs to transition away from the knowledge of what something is to an understanding of how and why.
